Optimized & Industry-ready Solutions
For All Your Complicated Needs
Zirconium silicate is generally used as a whitening agent in super white and ultra-white ceramic tile compositions. Depending on the market speculation, this material’s price fluctuated. To reduce this negative effect of the material on the profitability, an alternative whitening composition is developed.
The aim of EcoWhite R&D team is to prepare the alternative whitening composition with an innovative approach such as controlling the amount of the amorphous and crystalline phases in the ceramic body and produce the new composition with the same property compared standard body such as water absorption, size, strength, color and also to ensure the sustainable production with the same quality.

Different Formulations
EcoWhite product, in its different formulations, represents the most advanced technological solution as well as an integrated process studied for the substitution of zirconium silicate.
EcoWhite represents the perfect solution for anyone looking for a ceramic whitener that is also ideal for engobe and ceramic bodies formulations.
Achieve the Same Levels
Among the ceramic whiteners, EcoWhite fits into the customer’s original formulas without altering them to achieve the same levels of white as those that can be achieved through the use of zirconium silicate.
Extremely High Performance
EcoWhite whitener is an extremely high-performance whitener for engobe capable of generating a double advantage for those who use it. On the one hand, it guarantees the replacement of zirconium silicate in the formulas used to produce engobe; on the other hand, it allows significant savings associated to the purchased raw materials. For this reason, EcoWhite whitener represents one of the best whiteners for engobe in the market.
Alternatives
EcoWhite provides its clients with alternatives to zirconium silicate among a wide range of whiteners without altering the technical characteristics of the finished product. No quality consistency issues are to be solved due to ore variability. Large tile dimensional stability and water absorption are kept under control and colorimetric coordinates a* and b* match the original specifications.

ZIRCONIUM SILICATE
Zirconium silicate (or zircon) is extremely stable (refractory, hard, dense). Large quantities of zircon are used by the tile, sanitaryware and tableware industries (to opacify glazes). Zircon sand (which is milled to produce zirconium silicate powders), is a major source for the production of zirconia ZrO2.

ALUMINA BALL
Alumina balls are used as grinders in ceramic glaze and mud mills and in mills for glass mosaic production.

BARIUM CARBONATE
Widely used in making optical glass, magnetic materials, barium salts, ceramics, enamel, fireworks, ceramic coatings, bricks, tiles, frit. Aluminum oxide is formed by the easy reaction of aluminum with oxygen and is generally used as an abrasive.

WHITE FUSED ALUMINA
White Fused Alumina, a kind of high-grade refractories, was made from the high quality alumina by melting above 2000 in the electric arc furnace and cooling. It is white with the main crystal phase alpha-Al2O3. The white alumina produced in titling electric arc furnace has the advantage of high bulk density and low porosity and the volume stability and thermal shock resistance can be improved.

RUTILE SAND
The product Rutile Sand is a rational material for the manufacturing titanium oxide pigments, manufacturing refractory ceramics, production of titanium metal and welding electrodes.

ILMENITE
The product Ilmenite is a rational material for the production by chloride method of pigment titanium dioxide, which is used in paints, plastics, paper, pharmaceuticals. Also, Ilmenite is used for production synthetic rutile, welding electrodes, titanium sponge, metal titanium and in steelmaking furnaces.

TITANIUM DIOXIDE
Although titanium is the strongest white pigment known for many uses, in ceramics the whiteness (and opacity) it imparts to glazes is due to its tendency to crystallize during cooling. While titanium dioxide is used in glazes as an opacifier, it is not as effective and easy to use as tin oxide or zircon. It can be used as an additive to enliven (variegate, crystallize) the color and texture of glazes by introducing crystallization. Anatase, Rutile, Enamel Grades
